The Youth Diversion Initiative focuses on holding juveniles accountable for their actions. The focus on accountability is strengthened through committed participation and the development of an appropriate agreement.
This individualized agreement sets the expectations for the participant and the facilitator which may include additional assessments and referrals for counseling, educational/youth programs, and community service.
Participants will be further expected to complete assignments to improve their moral reasoning and decision-making skills.
Youth Diversion program participants can be referred by youth court, probation officers, school resource officer or local police departments. Once a referral has been made to our office, eligibility criteria will be reviewed by a member of the Seed staff.
After agreeing to participate in the Diversion program, the participant meets with Diversion Program staff who provide them with information relevant to the development of an appropriate individual agreement. This agreement outlines all of the requirements of the participants’ individualized Diversion program experience.
*Eligibility is discretionary and exceptions to the above-criteria are made on a case-by-case basis with careful consideration by members of our staff.
We are looking for partnerships with youth groups, community organizations, parents/guardians and others who work with youth or who are interested in working with youth.
Schedule a time to get more information about how we can work with your youth group, school district or homeschool co-op group.
